About Me

Felipe Centeno (https://felipecenteno.co) is a contemporary artist who lives and works in Downtown Miami, Florida. A native from Caracas, Venezuela, his colorful paintings show different times and moments of his life, situations, personal and professional. Expressing some feelings has always been a challenge for him.

Painting is one of the vehicles to express his feelings, visions, achievements, opportunities, hopes, and wisdom on a canvas. He always enjoyed painting and drawing. As a child, he dreamed of being part of a team that creates movie sets, shows, plays, etc. In fact, he then used to build many small sets at home and pretended to be filming in them. He even thought he would end up being an architect. He has always admired writers, directors, and musicians. People who have the ability to express themselves clearly. That is why he calls his show “Many Visions, One Voice”. He graduated as a Graphic Designer in the 90’s in Caracas at the Jose Maria Vargas University. Centeno’s work has been shown in several stores, Restaurants, and Offices. No formal gallery experiences yet.

He dedicated almost sixteen years to Visual and Merchandising, often a District multi-store level, in well-known retailers in the United States. Among his idols are Miro, Pollack, Picasso, Kandinsky, O’Keeffe, Cruz-Diez, etc. In his most recent visit to Amsterdam, he fell in love with Van Gogh, not only for the passion of art but the love of nature and how he interpreted it. His ability to continue to translate emotions and sensibilities into tangible canvases and concrete visual spaces always gathers curiosity and makes people think. This is his source of joy.
